With heat lightning the thunder is there but unheard because it is directed up and away from us acoustically (as I understand it) but I don't know about this situation. Could be some peculiar refraction going on as the storm first assembled itself. Or maybe you just didn't hear it. :) Nice video. We haven't had a roaring good thunderstorm here in far too long.
