I would cradle them in my arm similar to how you have Nora, but in a way that their inside arm was kinda behind them.  Not in an uncomfortable position, but in a way that when they are held tight against your body that arm disappears from the situation.  With the arm that is cradling them, wrap your arm over their outside arm and underneath them. This pins that arm as well.  Now you have no arms to get in your way.

With no arms to interfere, you can now put the bib back on and get only it dirty.  :)
