Some time ago Nora’s great-grandfather bought her an adorable little sweater. I particularly like these, and I stop to look at all the creative designs when I see the booth of these sweaters at the local Friday market. On the one hand it’s super-cute, but on the other hand it looks like what would happen if you combine knitting with lysergic acid diethylamide. In a surprising discovery that shocked all of us, it turns out that Nora is infinitesimally closer to the asymptote of perfect adorableness in this sweater. The two days she’s worn it, I could do nothing but smile at her.

Cutest. Gangsta. Ever.

The front of the sweater depicts a farm scene with animals and a lake and fish and sun and rain. Presumably the sun and rain are present to scientifically justify the presence of the rainbow (in which the colors are properly ordered by wavelength) on the hood.

The back depicts night time, in which the only creature stirring is the Twitter mascot.

Keeping warm under the rainbow.

Colorful Colindres

Two colorful photos I took last week. Several sets of houses around town have received new and colorful paint jobs and it has made a huge difference. They used to look old and rundown, and now they look less old and generally more happy. This is one of the many preschools in town. It’s the [...]

Alexander's Band

The weather the past few days has been miserable. Cold (long pants cold!) and wet. Luckily, when the doldrums get too unbearable, nature will sometimes throw you a gem to look at. Last night, we had a spectacular double rainbow. It was so large and close that I had to make a panorama. By digitally [...]

Rainbow Blanket from Janet

Also in a recent shipment from the Motherland that included some clay keepsakes was a wonderfully heavy and snuggly blanket made especially for Nora by Janet, a coworker of my mother’s. Nora loves it, and we’ve already begun putting it over her when she dozes off in a pile of toys. I also must confess [...]
