Nora turned eight months old today. It’s hard to believe that this time last year we were still trying to figure out what to call her. She got a very special gift this birthday: a high chair! We evaluated several models at the two local baby paraphernalia stores, eventually settling on one made by Chicco with the humorous product name: Happy Snack Cube, which sounds like a better name for the Buster Cube that my parents’ dog plays with. She loves it, and more importantly, it makes feeding a much more pleasant experience.
For lunch, we had – you guessed it! – hamburgers for her birthday party. Due to her strict schedule, she was unfortunately taking a siesta during hamburger hour, so she missed it. But I did get some photos of her in her high chair. Her next birthday will be on Christmas Eve, so we we’ll have to take a break from the hamburger tradition until January.

The word for “high chair” in Spanish is trona, which means “throne”. It does indeed give her a regal air.

With the tray attachment.

Birthday girl.
Happy birthday, Nora!

Well, it’s not like we can stop now! Yesterday we had a party for Nora’s seven month birthday. Her aunt, Spanish grandmother, and great-grandfather were in attendance. Hamburgers were on the menu again, and we had a wonderful feast. I’m always too hungry to take a photo of the actual hamburgers, though. Nora had a [...]

Well, Nora, it’s hard to believe, but we’re actually on the complete opposite side of the sun from where we were when you were born. It’s been a long 470 gigameter semicircular journey, kiddo. As clichéd as it is to say so, you’re changing every day and each day you are slightly more interesting and [...]

Five Months Old

Today is Nora’s five month birthday. Every birthday so far we’ve had cheeseburgers for lunch. We’ve stopped buying cake, though, ever since con of calories began to outweigh the pro of having cake. She slept through the burgers on her activity mat. It’s strange now to see tiny babies in the street and be the [...]
