To better familiarize myself with my new camera, I just took a little photographic safari around my parents’ house, snapping wildlife and interesting objects.

An urn containing some of my grandmother.

Young Parents

My parents when they were younger than I am now. They had a little bluegrass band.

Week Clock

My mother got this as a joke for my father for when he retires (to know what day of the week it is), but she couldn’t wait until he retires to give it to him, so they put it up already.

Stuffed Cerberus

A stuffed Cerberus doll guards the encyclopedias.

Westie Windsock

Westie windsock.

Deck Table

A cool cover on the deck table.

Westie Wind Chimes

Westie wind chimes. Have you noticed a theme?

Indoor Westie

That’s all for now.

  • I want a day clock and a cuddly Cerberus, please.
Friends of mine are westie-mad too, even to the extent of having a “Waterboarding Westies” calendar up in their kitchen…

  • I, too, am seized by the tender desire of ownership looking at the day lock and cuddly Cerberus. And I love that your parents had a bluegrass band.

Westies rule! I believe there are Westie fanatics the world over. Thanks to Erik, I have found and bookmarked a Westie flickr site that has multiple new pictures posted every day. One of my most memorable moments from our recent trip to Spain – besides Erik’s wedding of course – was getting to interact with a Spanish Westie on the plaza of the giant flowered Westie in front of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. I said “Hola Westie” and he understood!

  • From the content of this photo-essay, I love your parents. Do you think they’d adopt me?

  • Betsy

No problem, sgazzetti. Are you up for moving to North Carolina?
