Sniffles

March 12, 2008

I've had a slight cold all week, sniffling and nose-blowing every couple minutes all day long. Just as the horrible weather we've had lately reminds me to appreciate good weather more, being sick helps me to appreciate how nice it is to be well. I tell myself that, psychologically, these valleys are absolutely essential to not taking the peaks for granted.

Yesterday, without even realizing that I was collecting them, I found the following sight on my desk. Sniffles

Majestic pillars stand proud. Having served their duty, they await discarding.

I've decided that the common cold has been cured several times throughout history, but that thugs from Kleenex and other corporations in the Symptoms Treatment industry have silenced the scientists that discover the cures in an effort to maintain profits. It's not that I'm too cheap to buy actual Kleenex, it's that I'm boycotting their strong-armed greedy ways. After all, the toilet paper industry won't go out of business any time soon.
