Midnight Songbird

September 18, 2009

thumbTwo nights ago, we put Nora to bed at her normal 9:00 PM bedtime, and she slept like a baby for about an hour. At that point, she began singing at the top of her lungs. Since Marga wanted to go to bed, she brought Nora downstairs and gave the little songbird to me to watch after. The songs continued for 2.5 hours.

I got a couple requests after a recent post to share some audio of what the Monkey Alarm sounds like. Well, this is more or less it. Also making an internet debut in this video is a little metronome-like swing that a coworker of Marga's lent us since it's no longer any good to her two-year-old. Nora absolutely loves it!

At 12:30 AM, I couldn't take it any longer and I took her upstairs, put her in her crib and went to bed myself. We both fell right asleep. The next night (last night, as I write this), we both set records for sound sleeping, both sleeping ten hours straight.
