I don’t even remember what I was looking for when I found this guy. It’s some dude that lives in New York City that makes daily videos (vlogs?) about random stuff.

The theme for today’s Flickr post is Grandparents. Since these pictures were taken two years ago, two of my grandparents, Jean and Glen, have passed away.

Italy wins!

July 10, 2006 By: erik Category: Soccer 713 views

As in 2002, I took advantage of my liberal employment schedule to watch most of the games of the World Cup. I enjoyed it as much as last time, too. I normally don’t watch much league soccer, even though Spain has the best league in the world, because I have been unable to choose a team to follow and support. But with the World Cup, I find myself much more interested in which country wins.

July 05, 2006 By: erik Category: Bulls, News, Partying, Spain 1,297 views

We’re actually gonna do it this year. I’ve just bought bus tickets to go to Pamplona this weekend for the San Fermin festival. For you Americans, that’s the “running of the bulls” that brings Spain to your evening news program once a year.

Happy July Fourth!

July 04, 2006 By: erik Category: Food, Partying, Photos, USA 817 views

As in previousyears, we had hamburgers to celebrate the Fourth of July again this year. I couldn’t find any hamburger buns in the local stores, so I took a risk and baked my own. Vanishing Points

June 30, 2006 By: erik Category: England, Flickr, Photos, Spain 2,580 views

Here are a few photos that I’ve taken over the past year or two that all have something in common: vanishing points. A vanishing point is a point in a perspective drawing to which parallel lines seem to converge.

Batalla del Vino

June 29, 2006 By: erik Category: Partying, Spain, Videos, Wine 1,025 views

We just saw some footage on the news from this year’s “Batalla de Vino” that takes place every June 29th in a town called Haro, in the Rioja region of Spain. It looks like the Tomatina, except much safer and much drunker. We’ve got to try it!

Small Town Festival

June 26, 2006 By: erik Category: Colindres, Food, Partying, Photos, Spain, Wine 1,801 views

As I’ve mentioned before, this past weekend was a big San Juan festival in Colindres. There was a bonfire, an exhibition of dance from the local dance academy (where we go for ballroom dancing classes), a concert by a double of the nationally famous pop star, David Bisbal, and a celebration in the park with free stew, oxen racing, and broom and beret throwing competitions.
