The intelligence and creativity of people that create successful viral internet memes amaze me sometimes. In this case, it’s those clever liberals over at moveon.org. What a clever, clever idea!

Last September, a distant cousin of mine, Mark, found my blog and left a comment explaining who he was. Mark’s mother and my grandfather were cousins, both the grandchildren of Rasmus Rasmussen, a sailor, author and Lutheran reverend that sailed from Norway to the United States on a viking ship for the 1893 Chicago World’s [...]
I had a fight with the cactus last night. As part of my husband training, I was helping Marga hang laundry to dry out on the balcony. I turned to get some clothes pins and, like a professional wrestler in a china shop, slammed my right elbow into Mr. Cactus. One of us let out [...]
This might be my favorite political celebrity internet election video so far. I mean, it’s the only one with The Fonz! Could have used a little Fife, though.
You had me at “I am afraid he will bomb my goats. He is a crazy man.”

Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out.
This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.
Now you DO know!

The previous two comments are from the same email address, but with two different urls. Obviously spam. But the second one is so interesting that I’m going to redact the urls and leave both comments.
I find it fascinating and terrifying that anyone would, when pondering if Sarah Palin is ready to be vice president, ask themselves, “Well, how similar to Dick Cheney is she?” That seems to be what this commenter is implying. Is the ability to slip silently through the night shadows like a ninja cat really a prerequisite?

Erik:
How in the world did you find Dick Cheney lurking in that comment? Where is THAT implied? Has he joined the Alaska National Guard? Has he moved to Alaska? Did Haliburton build the missile installations? Or are you just paranoid?
The commenter (me) wasn’t ‘implying’ anything – simply posting facts that can be found via a simple Google search. I really WOULD like to know where fascination, terror and Dick Cheney came from…
Dick Cheney? Ninja cats? What the heck are you smokin’?
Chuck
PS: I did follow you link and sent the MoveOn.org vid to three of my farthest right Republican buds – mainly to bug them with the ‘Vote Obama’ message at the end.
When I came back to ‘return the favor’ by posting the Palin thing (which I though was very cool though unreported by the liberal media) I used my other URL. Sorry if it seemed ‘spammy’ but, you really DO need to do something about your paranoia…
The Facts
National defense assets like the Ft. Greely missile interceptors are not the responsibility of state governors. Those functions come under the regular U.S. military chain of command.
Secondly, from globalsecurity.org: The 49th Missile Defense Battalion (GMD) was activated on January 22, 2004 at Fort Greely. The battalion will provide operational control and security over ground-based interceptors located in Alaska to protect the nation from limited ballistic missile attacks. Alaska National Guard Soldiers will man the battalion as part of their homeland defense mission.
It is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO.
So, Gov. Palin is NOT the CinC of the 49th missile battalion
