First Worn Summer DressToday the weather was very nice and Nora wore a dress for the first time (if you don’t count the baptism). I also filmed a favorite1 game of Nora’s, which, for lack of a better name, I’ll call Blanket Face. The gist of the game involves Marga throwing a blanket over Nora’s face and then removing it. This “blindness quickly replaced by Mommy’s loving face” provides the shock-relief cycle that is the basis of human laughter, and this activity elicits the closest thing Nora has to laughter.

First some summer dress photos, and then a video of Blanket Face in action.First Worn Summer Dress

Somewhat smiling on the bed.

Looking good in Mommy’s arms.

Blanket Face is not only a fun pastime, but also didactic about what to do if you see someone on fire!

This video is also available on YouTube, Yahoo, Metacafe, DailyMotion, Blip.tv, Veoh, StupidVideos, Sclipo and Viddler.

1Excluding bath time or any activity involving fluids entering or leaving her body.

Another great thing about Blanket Face is its staying power. 2+ years later and Alek is still spending half his time walking around with a blanket over his head going, “Where is Alek? I don’t see him. [Whips it off] THERE HE IS!”

Then again, he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed.

Nora continues to be adorable. We love the pink dress.

    Love the third photo.
And yes, from my experience, blanket face never gets old.
